Fresh Mint Tea

Hello cookers, bakers, and brewers (as in maker of drinks in general)!

Do you have a garden with mint in it? Do you not know what to do with the mint?

Here is what you should do!

Take a pair of scissors into your garden (try not to look too intimidating :3), and cut some mint. Cut the stems so that you have a stem anywhere from 6 inches to a foot long. Leave a long bit of stem at the end, where you cut it.
Wash the mint in cold water, just by running each leaf under gentle water and rubbing to get dirt off.
Bind stems with rubber bands (If you have more than one kind of mint, you can label, if you want).
Also, wind the rubber band around the teeth of a clothespin. Clip the clothespin somewhere up high, dry, and out of reach of pets (a pantry works well). Leave to dry for 1-2 weeks, until leaves are crisp and dry, and can be crumbled.
Pick the leaves off the stem and put them in a jar. Crush them slightly. You now have tea leaves!

To make tea, boil water in a pot or kettle. Measure out a teaspoon of crushed (crush the leaves more) mint per cup of water, and put it in a pot, mug, or place big enough for the water. If you use a tea ball, put the leaves in the ball. Pour water in the pot/mug/what you used, and let steep for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, use place a tea strainer over the mug you wish to use, and pour in the tea. The leaves will get strained. Remove the tea strainer. Taste the tea first before you add sugar and stuff!

Enjoy!

To make iced tea, add your sugar and things (I don't recommend milk or cream), and put in a refrigerator until cold.

Enjoy your tea!
