Shortbread

The name of this is completely ironic, as shortbread can be any shape or size you like and is a sort of biscuit, not bread!

When I was small, the meaning of the word "biscuit" was basically "shortbread". When we had a biscuit (which was rarely, when I was small), it was shortbread. Now, we don't have shortbread that much as it's hard to find in France. But, it is easy to make!

Ingredients

  • A cup of butter at room temperature
  • Three quarters a cup of sugar
  • Half a cup of sifted all-purpose flour

Method

Mix all the ingredients together. Put in a dish for baking. Prick all over with a fork. Ask a grown-up to put it in the oven. 35 minutes later, take it out of the oven. Don't burn yourself!
And you're done!
